Japanese fund management firm · Singapore (Central)
Salary: SGD 4,000 – 8,000 / month (negotiable)
Run daily private equity fund operations at a Japanese fund management firm in central Singapore, with support for hedge fund and long-only operations. On the private equity side you will review term sheets, contracts and legal agreements — limited partnership agreements, subscription agreements and side letters — primarily in Japanese, and work with fund administrators, legal teams and counterparties to ensure compliance and proper documentation. You will manage capital calls, distributions and waterfall calculations for PE investments, monitor portfolio company performance and prepare investor reports, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to Japanese PE investments. You will also support hedge fund and long-only operations: assisting with NAV calculations, trade reconciliations and fund reporting, working with fund administrators, custodians and brokers on smooth trade settlement, and providing operational support for Japan-listed equity trades. The firm is looking for someone detail-oriented and analytical who can manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Hedge fund or long-only operations experience and experience with fund accounting or reporting systems are advantages. Working conditions are as follows. Responsibilities
- Run daily private equity operations
- Review term sheets, contracts and legal agreements (LPAs, subscription agreements, side letters), primarily in Japanese
- Work with fund administrators, legal teams and counterparties to ensure compliance and proper documentation
- Manage capital calls, distributions and waterfall calculations for PE investments
- Monitor portfolio company performance and prepare investor reports
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to Japanese PE investments
- Support hedge fund and long-only operations
- Assist with NAV calculations, trade reconciliations and fund reporting
- Work with fund administrators, custodians and brokers to ensure smooth trade settlement
- Provide operational support for Japan-listed equity trades
Requirements
- Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents (no work pass sponsorship)
- Japanese at JLPT N1 level or equivalent, including reading and writing — essential for contract review and Japan-based stakeholders
- 3+ years in private equity fund operations or a buy-side role
- Strong understanding of PE term sheets, fund structures, capital activity and compliance
- Diploma or above
- Detail-oriented and analytical, able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in Excel
- Hedge fund or long-only operations experience (advantage)
- Experience with fund accounting or reporting systems (advantage)
